Job Description

Job Summary:

The ABA Therapist is responsible for providing one-on-one behavioral interventions to children and individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. The therapist will implement customized behavior plans under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to improve communication, social skills, and daily living skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement evidence-based interventions based on ABA principles as directed by a BCBA.
  • Collect and record accurate data on client progress during therapy sessions.
  • Assist in the development and updating of behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Foster a positive learning environment to promote client engagement and learning.
  • Teach and reinforce communication, social, and functional life skills.
  • Conduct therapy sessions in various environments, including home, school, and community settings.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, training, and supervision sessions.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Education, or related field preferred).
  • RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Experience working with individuals with ASD or developmental disabilities is an asset.
  • Strong communication, patience, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if sessions are conducted in multiple locations).

  • Ability to manage challenging behaviors safely and effectively.
  • Excellent data collection and documentation skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and sensitivity to client needs.
  • Adaptability to meet client-specific behavioral goals.

Work Environment:

  • This role may require physical activity, including kneeling, sitting on the floor, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • May involve travel to client homes, schools, or community settings.
  • Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required.
