The Plant Operation Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. This role is accountable for driving efficiency, ensuring safety and compliance, managing staff, and supporting long-term production goals to meet customer demands and organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all plant operations including production, quality control, maintenance, and logistics.
  • Develop and implement production schedules, process improvements, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor production KPIs and adjust processes to ensure targets for quality, output, and efficiency are met.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Lead and supervise department managers, engineers, and operational staff.
  • Coordinate with procurement, supply chain, and logistics to ensure materials availability and timely delivery.
  • Implement and manage systems for tracking operational performance and reporting to senior management.
  • Collaborate with HR to recruit, train, and retain plant personnel; ensure workforce engagement and performance.
  • Develop and manage annual plant budgets; control expenses and optimize resources.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in plant or manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of managing a high-performing manufacturing or industrial plant.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other operational efficiency methodologies.
  • Proficient in using ERP systems and operational analytics tools.
  • Understanding of safety standards (e.g., OSHA), quality systems (e.g., ISO), and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
